PATRIOTISM OF ADEBOWALE

All our refineries are almost absolutely in perfect order. For 23 years now I have been following and contributing suggestion to policies on fuel supplies in Nigeria.

FOUR TIMES

Four times I, Mufutau Adebowale have caused our local engineers to be used to activate our refineries. I did this by way of writing letters to our Presidents and Press interviews.

THE FIRST TIME I CAUSED LOCAL ENGINEERS TO HANDLE OUR REFINERIES.

My interview in the Tribune Newspaper of December 25, 2007 exposed to the authority how the NNPC kept away Nigerian capable engineers from handling the refineries and that caused fuel scarcity when there was no sufficient manpower to handle the refineries and eventually production of was hampered.

The NNPC Boss at that time listened to the advice of Mufutau Adebowale and used in-house engineers at NNPC and requested for them to call back those capable to come and add value to NNPC production operation, and he declared that “ERA OF FUEL SCARCITY IS OVER” See Tribune Feb 8, 2008 Page 8.

THE SECOND TIME I CAUSED LOCAL ENGINEERS TO HANDLE OUR REFINERIES.

The second time was when I advised Federal Government to establish refineries activation commission in DailySun October 21, 2001.

The First Lady replied, Mrs. Patience Jonathan and assured me, Mufutau Adeniyi Adebowale that the commission will be put in place.

I, Mufutau Adebowale, CIPSAN Boss initiated the issue of refinery activation commission and when the commission was put in place, the secretary to the Federal Government did not make it, Adebowale led commission but instead he made it Idika-Kalu led commission to revive the refinery. I am happy the result led to 70% production achievement. Upon all these no national award given to me.

THE THIRD TIME I CAUSED LOCAL ENGINEERS TO HANDLE OUR REFINERIES.

The NNPC is very notorious. The achievement made in 2012 was not allowed to sustain. They need iron hand which the President did not apply. When things were going bad I wrote to President Jonathan to use local engineers to handle the refineries. See the letter

The result of this letter led to the achievement of 60% capacity utilization by in- house experts. See Guardian July 15, 2014 Page 21.

THE FOURTH TIME I CAUSED LOCAL ENGINEERS TO HANDLE OUR REFINERIES.

When President Jonathan was about leaving, the NNPC became uncontrollable and started to cause serious artificial scarcity of fuel across the country. In other to help President Buhari’s Government to hit the ground running, I sent full details of how General Buhari will handle the NNPC and fuel matters to him through Emir of Daura before the inauguration of his government. After just four working days as President there was fuel everywhere in the country because Buhari applied my recommendation.

Nigerians where is my reward? No recognition, No appointment. This is a thankless job. I am not a politician as my children are always preaching amagedom to me. I am not after publicity. The way our politicians are conducting themselves lordly is what I don’t like.
