Fellow Nigerians, I, Professor Mufutau Adeniyi Adebowale, hereby declare that fuel subsidy is not real. It is completely a deceit, being perpetrated by the NNPC.

For 23 years now, I have been contributing input to make successive presidents in Nigeria to adopt helpful policies to ease petroleum products supplies in the country. I do this under the auspices of the Certified Institute of Purchasing and Supply Administrators of Nigeria (CIPSAN). See Punch February 8, 2001 Page 30 Under the caption “Petroleum Scarcity is an Artificial Problem”

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) for almost 30 years now has been responsible for Nigeria economic set back. The NNPC has been the architect of our woe because IT HAS BEEN KEEPING ALL OUR REFINERIES REDUNDANT SYSTEMATICALLY so that the over 200 million people, the entire population of Nigeria may perpetually depend on imported fuel. When they render our refineries moribund, very huge benefit are reaped by the NNPC.

    ILLICIT BENEFIT

    1) When the NNPC keeps our refineries comatose, the only option is to be importing fuel, mainly because of subsidy monies. Payment of subsidy by the NNPC TO FUEL IMPORTERS GOES ALONG WITH FUEL IMPORTATION.
The top executives are serious about making the Federal Government approve huge budget for fuel subsidy. For an example, for January to June, 2023, President Muhammad Buhari allocated N3.36 Trillion Naira for subsidy. When we don’t import fuel, no payment of subsidy to any importer at all. When we stop importing fuel demand for dollar will fall very sharply and invariably, Naira will appreciate against foreign currencies in exchange. Importers of tyres, motor parts, books, vehicles, clothes, industrial raw materials, drugs and other items are all demanding for dollars (and other foreign currencies). This in addition to the huge amount of dollars expended on fuel importation makes the price (exchange rate) of dollars (and other currencies) to become too high. THE HIGHER THE DEMAND, THE HIGHER THE PRICE (OF DOLLARS).

Now they are claiming subsidy have has been removed but hardship has increased! Why? The only reason causing hardship is we are importing fuel with overpriced, outrageous exchange rate. When we stop importation of fuel, demand for dollar will fall very sharply. All our refineries are almost in good shape anytime any day. Our local engineers at the NNPC are very capable of handling the refineries but the authority has being keeping them away.

    2) As a result of keeping our refineries redundant (DELIBERATELY), they create the impression that they are actually in bad shape and bamboozle the government and the people of Nigeria that Billions of Dollars are required to bring in experts to do TAM, Turn Around Maintenance. See (a) Punch October 29, 2016 Page 10. “FG Seeks $1.8 Billion Naira for Rehabilitation of Refineries”

    (d) The Guardian February 4, 2004 “Refineries Will Work by May, Says NNPC”

They were telling Nigerians that refineries that had not worked since the beginning of 2004 will take them up to the month of May 2004 to get them fully repaired. The actual point is our refineries are not bad at all. 4 TIMES I, MUFUTAU ADENIYI ADEBOWALE CAUSED OUR REFINERIES TO WORK WITHIN SOME DAYS OR WEEKS THROUGH MY ADVICE TO NIGERIA PRESIDENTS.

One time, during the tenure of President Yaradua, two (2) times, during the tenure of President Jonathan and one time at the beginning of the tenure of President Muhammad Buhari in 2015.

    3) After deceiving Nigerians and the unsuspecting Federal Government, the NNPC will eventually recommend the refineries for sales as scrap or to be privatized.

    (d) Sunday Telegraph August 13, 2023 Page 2 “MOMAN to FG: Handover Refineries to Private Entities” I, Mufutau Adebowale say the Federal Government should not hand over any refinery to private entity. Our refineries are very perfect. Let the government take serious action against the NNPC and make our Local Engineers with HND and Degree be fully in charge.

    (e) Tribune June 19, 2023 Page 7 “FG Mulls Assets Rationalization, Sales of Refineries, stake in NNPCL”. No refinery is to be sold. Now that they have not been sold see the problems Nigerians are facing.

    (g) Punch July 12, 2007 Page 10 “Sales of Refineries: Senate Tackles BPE” The Kaduna refineries had been sold for $160 Million in 2007 but later the government secured it back. Before the sales in 2007, the government had just spent $200 Million to do its turnaround maintenance and procurement of some equipment. See the difference. IN ACTUAL FACT ALL OUR REFINERIES ARE IN ALMOST PERFECT ORDER.

Now in 2023, the powerful authority in the NNPC signed an agreement to spend $740 Million to repair the Kaduna Refinery which they had sold for $160 Million in 2007.

MUFUTAU ADEBOWALE HELPED PRESIDENT BUHARI & PROF. YEMI OSIBAJO

By the tail end of the Administration of President Jonathan in 2015, the NNPC as usual, created serious artificial fuel scarcity in the country. In order to avert serious crisis’s for the new government of the President elect, General Buhari, I took a lofty step and I prepared a comprehensive details how President Muhammad Buhari should handle the fuel matters and remove the bottle neck created for his incoming administration by the NNPC. As I did not know the address of General Buhari, I sent it to the Emir of Daura to be given the to the President Elect. It was done accordingly and the result was fantastic!

I sent the recommendation through the Emir of Daura on April 21, 2015 as per FedEx (Red Star Express) courier way Bill No. of 14227851.

I also sent a copy to Professor Yemi Osibajo through Pastor Adeboye at Redeem Christian Church of God, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The outcome was very fantastic! See National Mirror June 5, 2015 Page 5 “Port- Harcout Refinery Resumes Production” That was just after four working days as a President.

Other refineries started production and there was fuel everywhere in the country. As a result, the powerful people in the NNPC became afraid of President.

Buhari and Professor Yemi Osibajo. They were afraid of the no nonsense General. See The Nation June 18, 2015 Front Page “Anxiety at NNPC ahead of Buhari’s Massive Shake-up”

As a result, I was waiting for a Serious Commendation Letter from President Buhari and Professor Yemi Osibajo (Who is a Yoruba man like me. He is from Ikenne, Ogun State and I am from Ibadan, Oyo State) but no commendation letter, no national award! I was not pleased at all and I complained to Northern Elders Forum but no response, and we are in one Nigeria.

I, Mufutau Adebowale supported President Buhari till the last day of his administration on May 29, 2023.

I was expecting help from President Buhari as I have been battling prostrate cancer and prostrate enlargement since. Since August 2, 2023, I have being on caterter device. I have been doing this thankless job for over two decades now without any recognition from the government. I you hope as Nigerian will help me with just (or more). SECURITY

I formulated the use of Special Constabulary Police as the antidote to curb crime in the country. SPC are to work on part-time basis. Teachers, Furniture’s Makers, Pastors and Imam, all are to work on part-time basis in their locality. People in the localities know their individual security challenges. The language spoken will always help. In year 2012, I forwarded my recommendation about Special Constabulary Police to President Jonathan and Minister for Police Affairs. President Jonathan considered it in the CONFAB resolution.

In 2018, I sent to President Mohammed Buhari, my recommendation about adoption of Special Constabulary Police and it was adopted by the Federal Government in 2019. See Punch May 11, 2019 Front Page. The big but is that, nobody has given me credit for my Patriotism. No national award, No appointment by President Buhari.

Lagos State Government and some other states in Nigeria are now using Special Constabulary Police, in addition to NPF. I wanted Lagos State Governor to help us as our office at No 57, Obafemi Awolowo Way, Ikeja, Lagos State, was demolished by the buyer but he sent my letter, the third letter, back to me! I am not a politician at all. People see me as a LEADER WITHOUT TITLE in Nigeria. What I am doing is a thankless job. I am not after publicity at all. Now it has become necessary that is why I make this website.
